Progress!

We've just spent Easter Weekend packing a lot of the house up - and there's more to do this weekend, as we're moving out on Sunday!

Hopefully the completion will go through next week before we head off for a week of apartment hunting, but we'll see; if it does, that means we miss a mortgage payment - fantastic news!

Success!

House is sold - finally!

We're working to a completion date of 24-26 April - we're going away to scope out apartments on 27th, so it'd be good to get this all wrapped up before then. Plus it would mean not paying the mortgage in that final month!

The buyers have also expressed an interest in some furniture which could be handy!

Update...

...I tell you, our buyer is a cheeky swine.

He popped round last night and gave us a copy of the Halifax survey report with a few things on it, and wants to get some quotes for some of them - which is fair enough I suppose, but he now has the mortgage in place.

So essentially, nothing relies on getting quotes for these things - he just wants some money off.

I tell you, I'll be glad when this is all over and done!

Where I at?

I haven't been posting lately because there ain't nothing going on as far as the move goes.

Haven't heard back from the buyer following the survey (which is apparently a good thing according to our less-than-useless estate agents).

No progress on the visa front to report.

No info on whether I'll be coming back here or not.

We went up to Glasgow last weekend to see the in-laws, which was good. I think I may get in one more trip before we go, but we'll see.

Planning on starting to clear the house properly this weekend and next, so that'll really drive home the fact that we're leaving. We're both beginning to get a little weirded out by it so that'll be...interesting.

We're off to New York at the end of the month to see if we can't get an apartment sorted; there are a few buildings we're interested in which look good. One bedroom, at least initially until we get more settled. Hopefully I'll get ahold of a camera aswell to liven this thing up.

Fun and games...
